Jeanette Wilk Yaeger

Jeanette Wilk Yaeger joined One Eighty Consulting, bringing additional in-depth Legislative knowledge to the firm.  Jeanette gained this insight working inside the Florida Legislature as a Legislative Aide, for a state agency as the Legislative Affairs Director, as the in-house Legislative Affairs Liaison for an Association and finally as a lobbyist for private corporations.

Prior to joining One Eighty Consulting, Jeanette was a Government Affairs Consultant with Arnall and Associates.  She served as a liaison to the Legislature, Governor’s office and regulatory agencies in Florida.  Jeanette represented high profile clients such as BellSouth, the PGA of America, Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida.

Previous to this, Jeanette was the Government & Public Affairs Liaison for Western Growers in Phoenix, Arizona.  She lobbied on behalf of Western Growers (WGA), Arizona Crop Protection Association (AZCPA), Western Plant Health Association, and Crop Life America. While there, she planned and executed two major fundraisers for AZCPA and developed membership for WGA.

Before moving west, Jeanette was the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Florida Correctional Privatization Commission. As their Chief Lobbyist, she promoted legislative interest in further privatization and efficiency of state government, handled all press and legislative communications, contract renewals, ad valorem tax issues, and bond financing issues. Some of her major projects included increasing capacity at private facilities and reorganizing the bond financing of state facilities to increase cost-savings to the State.

Jeanette was also a Legislative Assistant to State Representative Joseph R. Spratt early in her professional career.  She drafted and tracked legislation, presented legislation before committees, secured companion sponsors, and met with constituents and special interest groups regarding policy.

Jeanette began her career in state government as the Research and Development Assistant for the Florida Department of State’s Bureau of Historical Museums. Jeanette wrote Grant proposals, brought back the Annual Giving Campaign, increased membership at the Foundation and secured corporate and private sponsors for exhibit openings.

Jeanette graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Political Science. She received her M.B.A. from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, completing a dual-emphasis in management and finance.

Jeanette serves on the Board of Directors for the Museum of Florida History Foundation and the United Way of the Big Bed board of directors and is involved in various other community service activities. Jeanette currently resides in Tallahassee with her husband, Don, and son, Will. In her spare time, Jeanette enjoys entertaining, traveling, and tennis.
